 Wayne | Work Services
This program is designed to provide work within the agency and typically includes subcontract work. Individuals may be involved with the work services program on either a part time or a full time basis. The program works closely with local companies in order to provide the subcontract work and individuals are paid by the piece according to Department of Labor regulations.
The Work Services Program also provides Mobile Work Crews. A crew consists of a small group of people with a working supervisor. The crew provides a service to a particular industry on a contractual basis. The crews have worked at local churches and factories providing janitorial services.
Another work alternative to the piece work is an Enclave. An Enclave is a small work team that provides the piece work at the job site rather than at the Center. The Center has had enclaves at local factories including a chocolate factory in Westerly.
